We develop from the content, out.

Welcome to the New Westward WD!

Welcome to the new westwardwd.com . This site replaces the old westwardwebdevelopment.com and is Westward Web Development's new home on the Internet. Although much overdue, the site is finally ready... mostly. Please bear with us as several parts of this site are still under construction. Our apologies if certain pages are still unavailable. The blog's comment system also still has some work to be done. Come back often as updates will be coming shortly.

Westward WD: A Brief Introduction

Westward Web Developmet, LLC was started by Jordan and Rob West in July 2008. The company was started to develop websites for clients using today's best possible practices so that the sites are findable and accessible by any audience. After all, websites are about content, user-generated or static, and people must be able to find and/or generate it. For developers, we seek to provide resources aimed at improving the web development industry as well as networking corporate and private developers, designers and administrators with clients.

What's going on with Westward today:

Currently, we have several projects going on both internally and for clients. Blue Lane Groceries Incorporated, our original client, is in the second phase of development and will be completed in April. Blue Lane Groceries Incorporated is an online grocery store linking established local grocers with their customers on the internet. The site is powered by the Joomla Content Management System and several custom extensions have been built to power the store.

We are also working on a project for Fantasy Sports Ventures, which launched earlier this week. We began working on this project in September 2008 and it is nice to finally see the site come to fruition.

As promised we are also working on continuing to update this site. We hope to have the comment system and other pages up and running soon.

What is Blogward?

Blogward is the new blog that has been launched alongside the new website. It's most basic purpose, like any corporate blog, is to provide news and information related to Westward Web Development. The bulk of the content, however, will be related to current topics in web development, both educational and editorial. Topics will cover a broad range of categories and outside authors are encouraged to submit ideas and articles. If you are interested in writing an article for Blogward please send us an email with some basic information and links to your work.

Last but Not Least:

On a persoanl  note, there are several people I would like to thank. Most importantly, I'd like to thank my father. If it weren't for his support and wisdom we would not be here today. I would also like to thank Bill Agnello. His constant support as both an advisor and a friend has been a driving force behind this company.

I'd like to thank Jayce Walker from Sunview Media for designing this website. I'd also like to thanks Joel Roberts for maintaining our server and for putting up with my frantic changes.

Lastly, we would like to thank our clients for their business and support. It has been a pleasure working with you and we hope to continue to build our relationships in the future.
